Frequently asked questions regarding the PLH online training modules

Q. How quickly can I start the Personal Licence Holder training?

As soon as you have completed your online purchase, you will be asked to set-up who the learners are: you or an employee(s). Once we have these details you can start training immediately.
 

Q. How long do I get to complete the licensing training module?

There is no limit on when you or each of your employees begin, however after each learner first logs into the training module their unique access code will only be valid for 1 week  (7 days to do the training; e.g. if you start on Monday at noon, you have until Monday noon the following week to complete it). After this you will be able to review the handbook for any further information.
 

Q. Where do I get my SQA Personal Licence Holder handbook?

For the SCPLH qualification you will receive your Personal Licence Holder handbook through the post. It will be posted to you on the day of purchase, if you haven't recieved it within a couple of days please call our helpdesk on 0844 445 7119 or email us on info@plhonline.co.uk and we will chase it up for you.

For the APLH qualification you will receive instructions on how to download and print out your Personal Licence Holder handbook.

If you require your copy of the handbook in an alternative format then please call us on 0844 445 7119 and we will arrange this for you.

Q. Can I do the licence holder training module at work and at home?

Yes, your access code (or each learners access codes) will allow you do perform the training from more than one PC; home and work (but there is a limit on how many PC's you can run one unique access code from).
 

Q. What if I lose my training instructions?

You can ask your manager to resend or reprint your training instructions, or you could call or email the Flow helpdesk to do this for you. The Flow helpdesk can be reached on info@flowhospitalitytraining.co.uk or 0844 445 7119.

Q. How long does the PLH training module normally take to complete?

Everyone trains at their own pace, but the licensing module normally takes around 1.5 - 2 hours. You also need to allow additional time to study the SQA Personal Licence Holder handbook.

Q. How long does the Staff Licensing Training module last?

The Staff Licensing module takes a minimum of 2 hours, and satisfies the staff training requirements of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.
