Frequently asked questions regarding the technical aspects of PLH Online

Q. What are the minimum system requirements for the training modules?

Operating system: Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000, Windows Vista or Windows 7.
At least 1.5GB Intel Pentium processor (or equivalent), 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended), screen resolution 1024 x 786, 16 bit display (32bit recommended), 200 MB available disk space

Q. I get a screen saying loading and then a time out?

The software requires an internet connection to confirm that your access code is valid. Please confirm that you have an internet connection and if you still can't get access contact your system administrators for further assistance.

Q. Speed; I have a slow online connection - will the interactive training module run for me?

Yes. The training module itself is too rich in videos and interactive demonstrations to be run over any internet connection; the training module must be downloaded first and run from your PC.  (on a slow connection this may take some time). An internet connection is required to validate your access code.

Q. I don't have an internet connection where I want to do the training; can I still use the PLH training module?

No, you must have an internet connection to launch the training module.

Q. I have Macintosh; will the training module run on Macintoshes?

Unfortunately the training modules will not run on a Macintosh at present. We are currently working on a Mac version of our training modules, if you would like further information or to be notified when it is released please contact us.

Q. Can I have the SCPLH or APLH (formerly known as NCPLH) training module on CD?

Yes, if you would like the software on CD please contact us; Note: CDs are available at an additional charge of £10+VAT and you will still need to have internet access to activate the training module
